Butler Crossing welcomes a new shoe store

Shoe Sensation opened its second store in the county Friday at 738 Butler Crossing.

The company's first store in Butler County in the Clearview Mall remains open, said David Bateman, spokesman.

“We are a family oriented, full-service shoe store. We carry name brands like Nike, Under Armour, Skechers, Puma, Asics, New Balance, Adidas and Clarks,” Bateman said.

The store, which has 12 employees, will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

Each customer can enter a drawing to win free shoes for themselves and their families. Entries must be completed in the store, and the winner will be drawn Monday.

The store is planning events to help veterans.

“We like to get involved in the local community. On May 15, we're sponsoring the VA Butler Healthcare system's walk and roll event,” Bateman said.

The annual VA2K Walk and Roll begins at the Abie Abraham VA Health Care Center at 11 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The event is meant to promote physical activity and support homeless veterans.

Shoe Sensation's veteran supply drive benefiting the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center in Armstrong County runs through May 12. The store is collecting snacks, fruit cups, copy paper, postage stamps, paper towels, dish soap, bleach, bathroom cleaner, trash bags, and sandwich and freezer bags for veterans at the center.
